What's New

-Dr. Stough has just completed a new textbook; "HAIR TRANSPLANTATION" which updates his previous work "HAIR REPLACEMENT - Surgical and Medical" published by Mosby in 1996. This is a medical textbook that physicians worldwide will utilize to access information on everything from diagnosing male pattern baldness to specific restoration techniques. It was released in January 2006 by Elsevier Publishing.

- This year, Dr Stough celebrates 19 years in practice!

- New instrument for making sites. Called CAG's these blades are cut to correspond with the actual size of the hair shaft of each individual patient. These blades allow us to get optimal density of the recipient area. The blades range in size from 0.4 mm to 1mm, which is about the same thickness as a dime!

-In January 2006 Dr. Stough spoke at the Annual Combined Meeting of ASHRS-AACS in Orlando. He delivered a speech on "Donor Hair Harvesting". He was one of two hair transplant surgeons asked to speak.

- Dr. Stough presented a talk titled "The Hairline" at the 12th Annual Live Surgery Workshop in Orlando. This is one of the only workshop meetings sanctioned by the ISHRS.

-Dr. Stough and members of his staff recently attended the 13th annual ISHRS (International Society for Hair Restoration Surgeons) meeting in Australia. The meeting drew an estimated 300 physicians and more than 150 medical assistants from all over the world. There were five days of scientific meetings with Dr. Stough delivering two speeches and led 3 workshops on hair transplantation.

-At recent ISHRS meeting, Dr. Stough directed six physicians in a workshop on hairline design. This workshop was attended by more than 50 surgeons and involved lengthy discussion of the latest techniques for designing and creating natural hairlines. The advancement of techniques utilized for hair design has increased greatly. The dense, straight, obvious hair lines of the past have fallen way to the irregular, less defined, frontal "zone" of hair. This was Dr. Stough's fifth year to host the hairline design workshop.

It is distributed worldwide and is the undisputed voice of transplant surgeons, as well as the International Society for Hair Restoration Surgeons. This magazine is published six times per year and includes contributions from doctors all around the world. Dr. Stough shares this responsibility as co-editor with Dr. Russell Knudsen of Australia. He now has the honor of being Editor Emeritus.

-Dr. Stough has recently completed a textbook chapter titled, SEPARATE NEEDLE STICK AND GRAFT PLACEMENT TECHNIQUE FOR HAIR RESTORATION SURGERY. This was published in a Facial and Reconstructive Surgery textbook.
